Another year without you, Dad. I know it's the way of life, and all of us must go at some point; but that doesn't make it any easier, and it doesn't make me miss you any less. I will always be in awe of the way you flew across the world to attend our wedding in 2016, when you were 82 years old. What an amazing effort, and so appreciated by all of us here in Australia.
I'm also very glad that I was able to make the trip over there to see you back in 1998, and go to your favourite pub, 'The Mason's Arms' in Teddington. That Speckled Hen wasn't as warm as I expected, thank goodness!
I know you can't read this, but that's okay because the thing about which I am most thankful is that we had you for so long and I got the chance to tell you this in person while you were still with us.
Much love, Dad... for always.
